The Río Cuale Municipal Market recently received its first major deep clean, thanks to the combined efforts of local vendors, city officials, and over 100 volunteers. Together, they removed more than 350 kilograms of waste, helping to restore the vibrant charm of one of Puerto Vallarta’s favorite public spaces.
Led by Mayor Luis Munguía’s administration, this initiative is part of a broader plan to improve the city’s markets. Along with cleaning the inside and outside of the market, crews also trimmed surrounding vegetation and cleared debris along the nearby Cuale River banks.
This is a big step for the market, which has never before seen such thorough cleaning. It follows similar efforts at six other markets around the city since October, with the Emiliano Zapata Market next on the improvement list.
By investing in clean, welcoming spaces, Puerto Vallarta aims to support local businesses, enhance your experience as a visitor, and foster a strong community feel—all while reinforcing its reputation as a top-notch tourist destination.
Enjoy exploring this lively market and discover the authentic flavors and local crafts that make Puerto Vallarta special!
