45. Puerto Vallarta Boardwalk under Renovation; Cuale River Pedestrian Bridge Closed

The Puerto Vallarta malecón is undergoing a major renovation, funded with over 18 million pesos by ZOFEMAT. The project includes replacing slabs, upgrading water and electrical systems, restoring the Dolphin Fountain, and installing new benches, lighting, trash cans, and street furniture. The renovation started with preliminary work such as lighting improvements and is now progressing with concrete removal and wall repairs. The work is being carried out in phases, one from the Cuale River bridge to the Dolphin Fountain, and another from the fountain to the Rosita Hotel. Some areas will remain closed for safety reasons. The goal is to complete the project before summer so the malecón can reopen to tourists and residents, who are advised to take alternative routes during construction.
