49. Puerto Vallarta Makes Improvements to Tourism Infrastructure

Puerto Vallarta is upgrading its tourism infrastructure with a focus on sustainability and connectivity. Key projects include the expansion of the airport with a LEED Gold terminal opening in 2026, increasing capacity and international access. The redesign of the Las Juntas road node aims to improve traffic flow and safety.

Eco-friendly buses are being introduced, along with new bike lanes to promote greener transportation. Additionally, the extension of the Malecón creates a new route from 31 de Octubre to Argentina, enhancing access to the historic center, combined with the development of two new docks to improve maritime connectivity and reduce downtown congestion.

These investments aim to enrich visitor experiences, boost economic growth, and promote more sustainable tourism.
