For renewals, fees range from $479 for motorcyclists to $1,104 for public transport drivers. Minor permits are also available:

The 2025 driver’s license boasts a revamped design featuring advanced security measures to prevent forgery and facilitate international recognition. Notable elements include:
A color-shifting hologram activated by tilting the card
A QR code to verify document authenticity
A permanently printed digital photograph to prevent tampering
Microprinting and intricate security backgrounds
UV ink and optically variable markers that change color
A unique serial number for tracking in the Transportation Department’s database

To obtain a new license, you’ll need the following documents:
CURP (Unique Population Registry Code)

Standard operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with extended hours until 6:00 p.m. at central offices.
