Pacific Airport Group (GAP) Announces Ambitious Revitalization of Puerto Vallarta International Airport with 3.6 Billion Peso Investment
In a forward-looking move poised to strengthen its role as a key player in Mexico’s tourism landscape, the Pacific Airport Group (GAP) has officially unveiled an extensive transformation plan for Puerto Vallarta International Airport. This significant initiative is backed by a remarkable investment of 3.6 billion pesos, as part of the organization’s Master Development Plan for 2025-2029.

1. New State-of-the-Art Terminal Building
- Spacious Architecture: The centerpiece of the revitalization effort is a new terminal building, sprawling over 74,000 square meters.
- Expanded Capacity: This expansion, which amounts to a 134% increase in infrastructural capability, is set to double the airport’s passenger handling capacity, addressing the increasing influx of domestic and international travelers.

2. Significant Infrastructure Enhancements
- Accessible Connectivity: A crucial component of the modernization plan includes the construction of a 1.2-kilometer overpass, which will facilitate direct access to the new terminal, significantly improving the flow of passenger traffic.
- Increased Aircraft Operations: The airport expansion will also introduce 15 new aircraft positions, along with extending taxiways by more than 4,000 meters, thus accommodating a higher volume of air traffic.
- Streamlined Arrivals: To enhance efficiency in processing international travelers, the installation of 14 autonomous migration filters will further expedite the customs and immigration process.
