137. Puerto Vallarta Expands Free Public Internet Access

Puerto Vallarta is taking exciting strides toward becoming a more vibrant and connected city. In collaboration with the Jalisco State Government’s Internet Access and Connectivity Agency, the city is set to unveil over 300 free Wi-Fi hotspots in public spaces through the Jalisco Red network—making your visit smoother and more enjoyable than ever.

This pioneering initiative, signed by Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía, aims to boost digital inclusion, enhance city services, and ensure visitors can stay connected while exploring Puerto Vallarta’s stunning attractions. Whether relaxing on the iconic Malecón, enjoying a day at the park, or visiting local markets and public buildings, you’ll find fast, reliable internet access to share your memories, navigate the city, or stay connected with loved ones.

Mayor Munguía highlighted the importance of connectivity as a key driver of social and economic progress, stating, “We are creating a more inclusive, modern, and accessible Puerto Vallarta. This infrastructure is just the beginning of our digital transformation, which will also bring innovative government services to improve your experience in our city.”

To guarantee top-quality service, a dedicated technical team is actively maintaining and upgrading the Wi-Fi network. Future plans include relocating some access points for better coverage and installing new hotspots in popular parks and bustling areas.

A public awareness campaign will soon inform residents and visitors about these new free internet zones, making it easier to discover and enjoy the city’s digital services.

This initiative is part of Puerto Vallarta’s vision to become a Smart City—where innovation, connectivity, and technology create a better environment for everyone. Come explore Puerto Vallarta—where modernity meets natural beauty, and connectivity opens the door to unforgettable adventures!
