Puerto Vallarta is celebrating a remarkable tourism year in 2025, as highlighted by Jalisco Secretary of Tourism Michelle Fridman at a recent presentation. The city welcomed 5 million visitors, generated an economic impact of 32 billion pesos, achieved a 70% hotel occupancy rate, and received 123 cruise ships with over 392,000 passengers.
Tourism Director Alejandra Cornejo credited the city’s success to effective promotion and the dedication of local hospitality providers, showcasing Puerto Vallarta’s strong appeal in both national and international markets. As the winter travel season approaches, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport is preparing for increased arrivals, with a 4% rise in accommodation searches reported by Booking.com for the holiday period.
Cornejo emphasized the importance of ongoing partnerships and strategies for sustainable tourism, as the city aims to maintain its competitive edge and attract winter travelers looking for sun and festive experiences well into spring.
