The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is experiencing a notable increase in passenger numbers as it approaches the end of 2025, reaching record figures. In November, the airport handled 618,900 passengers, an increase from 592,000 in the same month in 2024, reflecting the high travel season.
Key Highlights:
- Domestic Tourism Growth: Domestic flights have been crucial in this growth, with 257,000 passengers in November, representing a 7.0% increase compared to the previous year. Overall, domestic traffic has risen by 10.1% this year, totaling 2,855,400 passengers.
- International Traffic Recovery: After a period of moderation, international traffic is seeing a rebound, recording 361,900 passengers in November, an increase of 2.9% compared to last year.
- Projections for a New Annual Record: So far, the airport has served 6,234,900 passengers in 2025, a 1.9% increase from the same period in 2024. It is estimated that December could push the total to at least 6.9 million, surpassing last year’s total of 6.8 million.
This growth highlights the airport’s capacity to manage increasing demand and reaffirms Puerto Vallarta and the Banderas Bay region’s popularity as a preferred tourist destination.
