The Puerto Vallarta City Council approved a resolution to strengthen the protection of Los Arcos de Mismaloya and ensure public access to the beach. The initiative, presented by councilor Magdalena Urbina and backed by Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía González and other council members, aims to clarify the area’s legal status, advance its designation as a protected natural area, reject private concessions, and reinforce environmental measures. The call was expanded to include federal, state and municipal authorities, and the local government committed to continue efforts until the site receives official protection and the habitat and species of Bahía de Banderas are preserved.
