132. Construction of New Piers on Puerto Vallarta Beaches is Underway

Technical inspections have been carried out at Mismaloya and Camarones beaches in Puerto Vallarta as part of the initial assessments for the construction of two new piers. This initiative aims to enhance the tourism infrastructure and streamline the embarkation and disembarkation processes for visitors in these popular coastal destinations.

David Zamora Bueno, Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works (SIOP), and Luis Ernesto Munguía González, Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, visited both sites to evaluate the land designated for the new piers. The project is designed to bolster tourism and strengthen the economy of Jalisco’s coastal region by improving maritime connectivity.

For the Mismaloya pier, the plans include rehabilitating existing infrastructure, upgrading pedestrian access to the beach, installing new lighting, and linking to the Jalisco Network. SIOP technical teams will continue to work in the area to conduct detailed photographic surveys and prepare access for construction equipment. The first phase of work on the Mismaloya pier is projected to cost approximately 55 million pesos, with completion anticipated by late 2025.

Construction of the planned pier for Camarones Beach, situated on Uruguay Street in downtown Puerto Vallarta, is set to commence this year once the technical details are finalized. These infrastructure enhancements are part of the Jalisco government’s commitment to improving amenities for both residents and tourists in Puerto Vallarta.
