131. Puerto Vallarta Promotes Tourism at 2025 Tianguis Turístico México

Puerto Vallarta is participating in the 2025 Tianguis Turístico México, the nation’s premier tourism event, which commenced on Monday, April 28. This year marks a historic occasion, as it is the first time the event is being held in both Mexico and the United States.

The main venue for the Tianguis Turístico México is the Baja California Center in Rosarito Beach, with additional activities taking place in Tijuana and San Diego, California.

A notable new feature of this year’s Tianguis is the “Window to Mexico” festival held at Liberty Station in San Diego. This event showcased the culture and cuisine of 28 Mexican states, including Jalisco, specifically targeting the American market.

Puerto Vallarta is represented in the Jalisco delegation, which is led by the state’s Ministry of Tourism under Michell Friedman. Alejandra Cornejo Cornejo, the Director of Tourism for Puerto Vallarta’s municipal government, noted that the delegation comprises representatives from 19 companies, 13 exhibitors, and the Tourism Trust of this Pacific coastal destination.

Councilwoman Melissa Madero, chair of the Tourism Services and Visitor Relations Commission, is also representing Puerto Vallarta. Her goals include promoting the city to international buyers, establishing strategic partnerships, and attracting investment in tourism. She was invited by Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism and appointed by Puerto Vallarta’s mayor, Luis Munguía.

The event is expected to run until May 1st, anticipating over 15,000 attendees, including 924 buyers, 624 companies, and representatives from 26 countries. More than 20,000 business meetings are scheduled, involving commercial contract signings with travel agencies and international airlines.

Puerto Vallarta’s participation in the 2025 Tianguis Turístico México highlights its commitment to fostering innovation, connectivity, and sustainable development, reinforcing its reputation as a leading international tourist destination in Mexico.
