136. Governor Lemus Announces New Pier in Mismaloya During Puerto Vallarta Visit

During his recent visit to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus reiterated his commitment to enhancing mobility and connectivity in the city, both on land and at sea. As part of his agenda, he announced the imminent construction of new piers in Mismaloya and at Camarones Beach in downtown Puerto Vallarta, located at the end of Uruguay Street.

“Maritime mobility is essential for both tourism and daily transit,” Lemus stated. “Construction of the new pier in Mismaloya will commence tomorrow, and with the support of Mayor Luis Munguía and his team, we are finalizing the technical plans for the Camarones Beach pier. These projects will not only facilitate commutes for workers and enhance the experiences of tourists but also complement the existing services at the Los Muertos Beach pier.”

Lemus emphasized that mobility remains one of the city’s most significant challenges. He reviewed progress made at the Las Juntas interchange and provided updates on several other major infrastructure projects.

He announced that construction on the Amado Nervo Bridge, an investment of approximately 800 million pesos, will soon begin with support from the federal government. This new crossing over the Ameca River will create a second access point to Puerto Vallarta and improve connectivity, particularly for neighborhoods such as Ixtapa and El Pitillal.

Additionally, Grupo Ideal is advancing the construction of new bridges and junctions to alleviate traffic along the Libramiento route and enhance access to Nayarit.

In terms of public transportation improvements, Lemus revealed that 67 new air-conditioned public transport units will be delivered within the next five weeks, further modernizing the city’s transit network.

He celebrated Puerto Vallarta’s record-setting economic growth during Holy Week, which saw historic occupancy levels and underscores the region’s thriving tourism industry.

In closing, Lemus emphasized that his focus in Puerto Vallarta is on achieving results rather than engaging in politics. He received a standing ovation after highlighting his ongoing collaboration with President Claudia Sheinbaum and Mayor Luis Munguía, united, he said, by a shared love for the city.
