Guadalajara will play a key role in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosting a crucial round-of-16 match between Mexico and South Korea on June 18 at Jalisco Stadium. The city will also host four games in total, including a match on the tournament’s opening day, June 11.
Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro highlighted Jalisco’s cultural and culinary appeal, and the upcoming Fan Festival in Guadalajara’s Historic Center promises to attract many visitors. This marks the third time Jalisco hosts World Cup matches, following memorable events in 1970 and 1986.
Additionally, Jalisco will host two playoff matches: New Caledonia vs. Jamaica on March 26, and the playoff winner vs. the Democratic Republic of Congo on March 31 for a World Cup spot.
