Puerto Vallarta has enhanced its public transportation with the addition of 31 new air-conditioned buses, a collaborative effort by municipal and state leaders. Mayor Luis Munguía thanked Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro for his commitment to improving commuter experiences and reducing travel times for residents.
The new fleet includes 10 electric buses, 15 powered by natural gas, and 6 diesel vehicles, all designed for passenger comfort and safety, featuring air conditioning, video surveillance, and modern fare collection systems. The electric models also provide universal accessibility.
At the handover ceremony, Mayor Munguía highlighted the importance of teamwork in promoting sustainable urban mobility. Governor Lemus praised the Mayor’s efforts in securing necessary infrastructure for the city.
Looking ahead, an additional 65 buses are scheduled for delivery in March 2026, as part of a larger electromobility initiative for the Medina Ascencio Avenue corridor. Both leaders emphasized the essential collaboration between municipal and state governments in improving mobility and quality of life in Vallarta.
