Economic projections from December indicated a prosperous holiday season for Puerto Vallarta, generating over 4.3 billion pesos in tourism. This growth is attributed to strong domestic travel demand, particularly from the United States and Canada, along with record occupancy rates during the festivities.
Tourism authorities highlight increased activity in restaurants and tour operators, driven by new attractions and a variety of cultural events. Puerto Vallarta is diversifying its offerings by integrating eco-tourism, culinary tourism, and LGBTQ+ experiences, attracting different market segments and contributing to higher visitor spending.
Business leaders emphasize the importance of a strong local push for small and medium enterprises, which heavily rely on seasonal income. Additionally, investments in airport expansion and public safety have played a crucial role in restoring traveler confidence.
As the new year progresses, it’s expected that tourism momentum will continue, solidifying Puerto Vallarta as one of Jalisco’s most important economic engines.
