124. Puerto Vallarta Braces for Warmer Weather Ahead of Easter Break

As the Easter holidays draw near, Puerto Vallarta is embracing the warmth of the season, setting the perfect stage for a vibrant Semana Santa and Pascua. This beautiful coastal destination is attracting tourists from around the globe, eager to enjoy its inviting climate and breathtaking scenery.

Local meteorologist Víctor Manuel Cornejo López notes that daytime temperatures are on the rise, potentially reaching highs of 33°C (91.4°F) by the end of Holy Week. While the mornings remain refreshingly cool, recent daytime highs have hovered around a pleasant 27-28°C (80-82°F), with this trend expected to continue as we approach the busy holiday period.

“This warming trend is typical for this time of year,” explained Cornejo López, an advisor to the Bay Area’s Scientific Committee for Civil Protection. “We can anticipate temperatures exceeding 30°C (86°F) during the holidays, continuing to climb in the weeks that follow.”

Tourists planning to bask in the sun and unwind on the beaches should also heed safety advisories regarding waves. Although conditions within the Bay of Banderas are forecasted to remain moderate, with waves between 80 cm (2’7″) and 1.2 meters (3’11”), larger swells may develop offshore due to jet stream activity originating from the Pacific. Cornejo López elaborates that storm systems off the California coast can create wave trains—sequences of swells that travel parallel to the shore, occasionally bringing stronger waves into the bay. Local authorities will be monitoring the sea conditions closely to ensure visitor safety.

With its rising temperatures, mostly clear skies, and gentle morning breezes, Puerto Vallarta is poised to offer ideal weather for holiday celebrations and outdoor adventures. This Easter season promises to be a delightful experience for the many tourists flocking to this picturesque paradise.
