During a recent meeting with City and Historic Center Manager Jorge Durán, business owners highlighted significant economic losses of 30-40% due to ongoing construction difficulties, coupled with high operating costs. To improve oversight, they agreed to establish a committee to monitor progress and ensure transparency.
The business community is particularly concerned about access between Hidalgo Park and Malecón 2, which is causing traffic issues for tourists. They are eager to work with the city on attracting visitors but stressed the need for a clear construction schedule.
Mr. Durán acknowledged the delays, promising to consult with the Public Works Department to provide a definitive timeline. This collaboration marks a crucial step towards effective coordination and improvements in Puerto Vallarta’s public spaces.
